Most individuals living in metropolitan cities are familiar with driving on the interstate. There’s an art to accelerating from the access road, merging lanes and exiting onto the ramp. This is a very fast pace and aggressive way to get where you want to be. But at some point on your travel, you must take an exit in order to arrive at your destination.
We can draw similarities to this in the sense that our lives can be moving full speed on a certain path, but are we arriving at destiny. Just because you’re on the interstate doesn’t mean you can’t miss your exit. You can almost make the assumption that busyness equals productivity. Some might even say, “As long as I keep moving I’ll eventually get there.” But the reality is, you might end up in the wrong place because you were so busy doing the wrong thing.
Have you ever missed an exit, driving distracted and it took you 15-20 minutes to get back to the place you were supposed to be?What happens when the Holy Spirit is trying to get you to exit the path that you’re on but you’re not listening? Have you slowed down long enough to pay attention to His direction?
In 2020, you must stay alert to the promptings of the Holy Spirit, because He knows how to get you to your intended destination. Don’t become so distracted this year that you waste the year making U-turns. God is ready to take you places that you have never dreamed. Pay attention and stay alert! Don’t miss your exit!
